Description:
Interested in the various fields of medicine and health care? This
course introduces the many sub-specialties of medical doctors (pediatrics, surgery,
neurology and others) while also highlighting health careers outside of the
MD arena. For most specialties, we include an interview with a health care
professional and describe the job market for their field. We also touch on
current topics in field as well as ethical dilemmas, health care management

Description: Medicine and the Law provides students with
insight into the intriguing and always evolving relationship between these
two great professions. This course is both appropriate and would be of
great assistance to anyone considering a career in health or law.
Online lectures are presented by both academic and practicing attorneys and
physicians. In addition to the lectures directed readings give students

Registration
for most MEL courses is handled on

Registration for MEL4012 is by
invitation/application only. Upon the completion of MEL4011 with satisfactory
performance (grade of “A” and professionalism), students are invited to apply
for permission to take MEL4012. If an application is approved, the student may

or time?
No, the
courses are completely web based and do not ever meet in a classroom. Also, all course materials are available 24
hours a day, 7 days a week, meaning you can view video lectures and complete
assignments at any time. Assignments are
usually due, however, in weekly segments.
